A Taste of Bath

Thanks for all the lovely comments and stars on my yesterblip. As you can imagine, we're having a fab weekend with the family. We spent today in Bath. So many lovely sights, so I've created a collage of just a few of them.

First, angels (with and without their heads) heading heavenwards up a ladder on the front face of Bath Abbey. They were great to look at as we queued to go into the Roman Baths. Then the gorgon's head, which was part of a relief on the baths' wall. Cleverly, the missing sections were gradually projected to complete how it would have looked, and then faded out - you can see the Before and After here.

Other pictures show the Royal Crescent*, and a beautiful flower arrangement in House Number 1 that we visited. Lots to see there: period furniture et al. All well worth a look - including contemporary Regency cartoons. And I liked this Georgian house reflected in a glass vase in a shop window.

*Apparently, John Cleese (who grew up in, relatively nearby, Weston-super-Mare), now lives in one of the basement flats in the Royal Crescent. Yup, even the basements are that expensive!

Now, home-from-home in our rented house, supping wine and nibbles and loving the company. Catch up anon. Have a great weekend.
