Gently down the stream

On the turn..

(and on the water, I don't seem to be able to get away from the stuff).

Living where I do, in a great watery river valley, this to me is very much a transition sight between summer and autumn.  Foliage and grasses, dark green but no longer growing, are still fringing the riverbanks, and this year's cygnets, as here, are still light beige, living with their family and talking in baby voices (little cheep cheeps, bless them!) even though they are the same size as mum and dad and behaving just like them in other ways right down to the grooming.  Though perhaps they're not quite so bold.

So this is my entry for MonoMonday, MM139, subject 'Seasonal'.  Thank you so much to Ingeborg for hosting.

xx
