Gently down the stream

Late roses

This looks to me like an albertine, though it wasn't climbing and easily might not be (any suggestions?).

Anyway, I saw it on a relatively short walk round the neighbourhood.  It was growing in front of a terrace of half a dozen fairly ancient weavers' cottages which open onto a little snicket near the King Alf pub.  No front gardens, just a few plants clinging on, there or thereabouts.  Despite the rather colourless day this surely lit up the world.

Love late roses, don't you?  Sometimes they go on till November, or even just into December.  That always feels like magic.

Choir tonight, so now I need to do something about putting the songs in my folder.  Speak later, lovely peeps  xx
