Blipmeet in London

Today was a blip-rich day! Some days there's no photo ops and then there's too many, and thankfully blip offers extras now.

Met up with the delightful Honeycombebeach (Maureen) (https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/2225374285680086580) in London today. She kindly came in to see me and take in a few sights (and sounds and smells) of London.

Met up at Trafalgar Square, minus the pigeons, and headed straight to the National Gallery, which I'd never been to when we lived here. Today was the day! And it was amazing. Loved seeing original paintings of famous works I've only wee seen in magazines or replicas. What an absolute treat. Loved it and loved seeing my favourite artist Monet. Needless to say, I've come away with a few goodies from the gift shop!!!

Next stop, Royal Opera House. How convenient that these national treasures are all within walking distance of each other. But alas, the Opera house is closed for expansion/renovation till 2018 :(. So we had lunch elsewhere and decided to walk to Covent Garden next. A real treasure trove Covent Garden is and we enjoyed strolling through the shops and eateries. Maureen treated me to a lovely cappuccino.

Onwards to the National Portrait Gallery and lastly St Martin's in the Fields.

We had the most wonderful time together and I'm so grateful that Maureen made it all the way out there despite her bad knee and all the walking and stairs that we encountered. What a trouper! A very special day indeed and the best weather we could have asked for. Thank you London! You looked beautiful today.
