Protests turned Riots

Protests turned riots.

I am sad to say that the above photo is of someone shot waiting for an ambulance that can't get to them because of the rioters blocking the streets.  Eventually a police bearcat transported him to the hospital where he is on life-support.  I took this photo from our 11th story window.

The 3rd floor walkway from which I took yesterday's photos saw rioters even up there and the Kandy Box night club, which was closed, was broken into and severely damaged.  Several businesses that are in that little 'street' in my photo where damaged.

Kent and I watched out our hotel window until about 9:30pm although the mess went on until 3am.

Kent was to be in more training this morning and we had plans to visit the Nascar Museum this afternoon but due to the unrest Kent's training was canceled (and the rioters even tried smashing into the Nascar Museum) and so we were on the road heading home before 9am this morning.

There is talk of further "protest" in another area of Charlotte again tonight.  With all this violence and damage to property and out and out looting, it is not a protest.  It's a riot.  Someone called them terrorists and I guess in a way they are in that they inflict terror on the general citizens of Charlotte.
