Between the layers...!

Walking from Jesmond, where we parked the car, into Newcastle town centre this afternoon, we chose the route which goes across a footbridge which is sandwiched between the south-and-eastbound carriageway of the Central Motorway beneath it and the northbound carriageway above it. This provides a good vantage point to watch (and blip!) the traffic going by underneath the bridge. And there are convenient railings on which to rest the camera whilst taking a longish exposure.

I did wonder about going back sometime in the rush hour to catch more traffic in the photo - but as the traffic's usually pretty stationary then it would probably actually be less, rather than more, dramatic!
