Signs of September

A drive on the back
roads looking for signs of fall...
Too many to count.

We had a sleep in and a late breakfast. Then we were off to explore the backroads with a camera. We headed out on Shuswap Road from Kamloops first. Once on a gravel road, it feels like an adventure. We wound our way through Chase and then back onto the Trans-Canada Highway to the Squilax Bridge. We turned onto the Adams Lake Road and followed it back to the Yellowhead Highway north of Kamloops. Then we turned north to Barriere. Just outside the town we turned left again to Westsyde Road that would take us home.

There were lovely colours of fall everywhere. The aspens with their bright white bark and black scars stood bright yellow in the sun. We caught sight of the little Adams Lake Ferry through the trees. Adams Lake always seems so big. Today it was all greys and blues. We found a herd of deer lazing in a farmer's field. Later, we came across an old barn and a small herd of cattle. The girls had burdock tangled on their faces making them look just a bit comical.

We got home in time for D to catch his news!!
