A great day climbing at The Roaches with a new climbing partner, Caroline, a club member who I met for the first time at the weekend. We did Right Route VD (see extra) with me leading the second pitch and then I lead Maud's Garden HVD... it was quite scary in places, but it was a case of I've started so I'll finish. Someone on here, SparseRunner I think, told me a while back that if I could channel my stubbornness I'd be able to get up anything. Mary's called me gutsy, but I think it's more a mixture of desperation and bloody mindedness!
It all took a long time as we were faffing about with routes that we thought we could do until we tried, and so I ended up getting home at just before eight.
The photo? This is what happens to your hair when you wear a helmet all day in a very strong wind!
