Migrant in Moscow

Piece of history

I snapped this image from a taxi on the way to the airport in Tbilisi this evening: a Soviet-era mosaic, now sadly being broken down.  The Soviets were masters at the art of mosaics and most of these works depicted positive values like education, sport, space exploration (like this one), and other, similarly, noble feats.  Consequently, I feel it's always sad to see these relics disappearing.

I looked back to see when I've blipped other mosaics from that period - on 2 April 2016 and 1 November 2015.

PS. I found a website (there are a few websites and other mentions) on Soviet Mosaics in Georgia.  Nice to see this history being recorded.
