Santiago in Burgos

A rest day in Burgos but quite a full one, spent the morning exploring the Museum of Human Evolution and then the afternoon looking around the cathedral. It's very strange to find the two in close proximity considering the not-always-friendly relationship between science and religion, but both of these monuments were very well suited to their causes.

Today's Blip is of the altar in the chapel of St James within the cathedral (one of sixteen chapels) and was one of the more spectacular sights today - it's also a good contrast to the simple design of the Abbey in Cañas that I Blipped the other day.
