If you can't beat them...

Traversing.

As I keep telling ArcaneSpark we go to Sheffield to see the family not to be tourists.  This naturally means our activities revolve round their normal life and what is best for the kids..  Today we decided to visit the Heeley City Farm.

What a fascinating place!  The farm aspect obviously appealed to me as an ex Rural Studies teacher, however it is much more than just a small petting farm.  Small yes.  It stretches across three roads which which they have managed to close.  There are gardens, greenhouses, wildlife areas, a cafe and play area.

The climbing wall puzzled 4 year old Daniel as it was obvious it didn't go up!   I explained to him it was for "sideways climbing" and off we went.  Granddad was standing ready to field any falling bodies but given that the lower steps were only inches off the ground it wasn't really necessary.

The farm was also interesting as it was part of the Sheffield Safe places scheme and runs Learning Disability Placements..
