Malou

Phew! Today's been a busy one... by day it was 'Training Tuesday' with a range of options on offer at Central Library including a great session on overcoming anxiety delivered by local author/physicist/comedian/recovering-worrier, Neil Hughes. You can see his TEDx Talk, 'Walking on Custard' here... http://tedxtalks.ted.com/video/Walking-on-Custard-How-Physics

By night it was our mental health film night at FACT where we showed the great animated feature 'Inside Out' www.youtube.com/watch?v=_MC3XuMvsDI alongside 4 short films with a mental health theme by local people/organisations, including 'Isolation' by fellow photography fan Marc Fraser; 'Beautiful Me' by MOWLL (an organisation which promotes social inclusion for people with learning disabilities, mental health problems and acquired brain injuries); 'Blue' by Biyi Yang - a student from China currently in her 3rd year studying Communications and Media here in Liverpool; and our very own film which documents the 'Mad Pride' event that we ran back in April... www.youtube.com/watch?v=0EAfQ33dzqk

Somewhere along the way we had a team catch-up with Malou Frieden who's our stage manager for the big event we're running in Williamson Square this coming Saturday. There'll be live bands, dance, drumming, theatre, circus, roller-skating and the specially formed 'Mad for It' choir to oversee... but Malou is more than up to the task!

Interesting facts. Malou's originally from Luxembourg and, when not stage-managing, she can often be found blowing a mean baritone sax in 12-piece funk band Galactic Funk Militia www.youtube.com/watch?v=3sefpAQQ-r8

On another note, Happy Birthday to my mum, Ma Booknerd! X
