Sleepy Time Dave

Which is how I feel writing this. Up just after 6am for morning tea and out with Basil at 7 am to get to Newtown Linford and Bradgate Park.

It really is the best time of day. The deer are strolling around and there's mist over the stream.

You could hear the sounds of the rut coming from the Sanctuary. With luck, you can also capture a sight of stags 'at it.' Not today, although I did see a sort of skirmish between three stags who started chasing each other. Hinds and fawns became visible in the bracken once the sunlight started filtering through the trees.

The bellowing of the stags quietens down as the sun gets higher.

A lovely walk. Over to East Leake soon to hand over camera cards, a quick trip to Sainsbury's to top up with petrol and rehearsal of Gerontius this evening in Leicester. MUST close my eyes first though, like Dave!
