Landscape in pastels

Abstract Thursday: Pastel

With thanks to Robert (youoregon1) for yet another great abstract challenge this week.  Interesting and surprisingly difficult to get a satisfying result with pastels. 

In this case having taken my photo I spent some time in software tweaking exposure settings etc to try to get a suitable image that didn't look merely washed out.  In the end I took the image into Affinity Photo and gave it the fully monty abstraction treatment.  

I'm not too unhappy with the end result.

Thanks for all your kind comments about the head cold - its definitely improving and I should be back at work tomorrow, after another early night.  Hopefully in time to be well for the weekend!
