A Day Worth Recording

Unexpectations

The expectation today was that we'd have a day off, head in the direction of the Forest of Dean for a walk or something and pick up our new fire pit en-route.

Plan B turned out that we'd have to take A into Worcester hospital for some tests, say half an hour, and then spend the afternoon at one of the tourist sites we'd not visited yet in the area.

Reality was that E and A spent all day waiting between tests including some that got forgotten about and thus repeated while I initially mosied around Worcester taking some solidly mediocre photos. (Having forgotten my wallet there wasn't even much point browsing the shops for pointless impulse retail therapy) then I went home, tidied the garden for an Open Garden thing tomorrow, and went back later to pick up a frustrated E while A spent the night there.

To mitigate the frustration we stopped off at a pub which had caught our eye because of the word 'vegetarian' appearing on their blackboards outside.  The Blue Bell in Callow End.  Indeed, the blackboard inside had a whole range of veggie options as well as omnivore ones. I'm not veggie but joined E on that side of the menu, and we shared battered Halloumi and Brie & Beetroot tart - both excellent.

As indeed was the accompanying free drink as it was Veggie Night.
