Explosion

Here is the explosion of a Callistemon from tightly packed buds to a brilliant red bottle brush. These processes of nature never cease to fascinate me. This one is particularly beautiful because the brushes a so large and full and the most beautiful crimson in colour. The name is derived from the Greek words kallos, meaning beauty, and stemon, describing the coloured stamens, which are the showy part of the flower. These are in abundance in our gardens now.
