Nothing is ever easy?!

More ranting today peeps. We apologise in advance.

Firstly after spending forever on price comparison sites last night (see yesterday Blip), Ann has failed to find me any cheaper pet insurance. Even when she lied and said I had no existing conditions, it only found three that were cheaper than our renewal price and all of them had an excess fee of £99 or above, plus we had to pay 10% of the bill. #itsnofungettingold

It is so, so annoying that just because I'm in my later years of life and we've claimed for various ailments over the last 2-3 years, the price has been hiked up by loads. Was the price reduced for the first 10 years of my life when we didn't claim for anything? No it wasn't. Ann's really tempted to cancel it and just take her chances that nothing serious is going to happen to me. After all if she has to pay a £60 excess every time I go to the vets am I really going to use up £557.14 worth of pet insurance in a year? There again who knows what is going to happen to me? But the limit for one illness is £2,500. It's not really a lot is it, considering they want us to pay £557.14 for a year?

OK – lets get a discussion going here Blippers. What would you do? We have until the 3rd November to decide.
Secondly; a bulb has gone out in our bathroom ceiling. And before any of you lovely Blippers start commenting that changing a bulb is not a major problem......................... In our bathroom it is! Changing a bulb in our bathroom has something to do with a 'transformer' (whatever a transformer may be) and this involves going into the loft and doing 'electrical things'. Going into the loft and doing electrical things involves an electrician and getting an electrician means hanging around waiting for an electrician to 1) phone us back which he hasn't done, & 2) waiting in for him to arrive. Grrrrrr
Thirdly; when we were out in the car the other day a picture of a spanner popped up on our dashboard. After Ann having a major panic because she thought a spanner meant that something was loose and that a wheel or something was just about to fall off she googled this. Apparently it means that a service is due. Well we knew that wasn't true because we had a service 6 months ago. Phoned the garage who said it obviously hadn't been reset. Asked if we had to make an appointment to have this done and was told, 'No, just bring it in when you're passing.' So today we were passing. But everyone was at lunch so we were asked, 'What time would you like to come back? I can make you an appointment.' Why didn't they do that in the first place. Asked if they could also have a look at the tyres because when we went for our 'free Halfords check' (that ended up costing about £250) they marked one of them as 'amber' which meant it was nearing the end of it's life. Garage person thinks it's probably a good idea to get a new one before we drive up to Scotland. So that's another thing to add to our 'to do' list for next week.

Fourthly; was planning to go to Perranuthnoe for my walk because it was a beautiful day. The weather today has been fabulous. (Ann sat on our very sunny sun terrace this morning and the temperature there was 24c.) Got to Perranuthnoe thinking that we could park for free, 'because it is winter' but the parking attendant was in the car park demanding £4 off us. Ann said, 'Molly, I'm not paying £4 to walk along a beach for an hour. We'll go to Praa Sands instead.

So we went to Praa Sands and it was lovely. The tide was way out and there were loads of paddle boarders about and it was like a summers day. Had an absolutely lovely time down on the beach.

….................And sorry for ranting so much............................ But sometimes it's good to have a good old rant. Feel loads better now!!!

Thanks for reading to the end of this rant Blippers. xxx
