727. In memory of Marjory....

My son phoned later on last night to let us know that his Granny (my ex-mother-in-law) had passed away suddenly after collapsing whilst they were out....she was 86 and a lovely lady and I kept in touch with her after her son and I parted company and my son was her only grandchild and she doted on him...naturally he's very upset....

Years ago she gave me this ring...the aquamarine stone in in was part of a necklace which belonged to her grandmother and it had been made into rings to give something to each of the daughters..so it came down through her mother.....when her son and I divorced I asked her if she would like this back to perhaps give to her daughter but she said no, she wanted me to keep it and I love this ring...now it will forever remind me of her....

My son was upset that he didn't get to say goodbye to her but I reminded him of the last time he saw her a couple of weeks ago and how happy she had been that his studying was going well and that he had a new job...I told him to hang on to that memory when he saw his Dad and the whole family got together....that was her goodbye to him...

So here's to a lovely gentle soul...rest in peace Marjory.....
