Chilly morning.....

Frosty and calm, 1C, the air was brisk while the sky was soft with a quiet chill. An incoming tide was far enough out exposing ripples in the sand and ponds of flowing water. As the sun broke calls from gulls echoed by, it was a celebration that another day had begun. The sky was softly golden along the horizon, a gentle stir from an easterly breeze rustled the grasses and the warmth from the sun upon my back was sheer joy, so much so I spent more time capturing the light on the dunes and grasses than facing the sun. Mt Oxford had a good coverage of snow which look stunning against the softness of the sky.

It was great to be back at the beach again, fill my lungs with sea air and amble along. My extras show some of the surrounds from the beach and looking west towards the Puketeraki Range.
