Newcastle Downunder

Auckland from Waiheke

We had a lovely day today.  A walk in search of waterfalls in the morning, a drive around the Island in a near circuit stopping at Stony Blatter  where we walked to the WWII remains pottering around the rocks until we realised we were cutting it rather fine to get back and ready for the wedding.  The Island is a mass of rolling verdant hills with aqua blue waters surrounding it.  Beaches and coves fringe the edges and there are forests and many lovely walks you can do.

The wedding was a beautiful event at Mudbrick Winery.  Two people more in love you could not find.  The food was superb and the band had us up and dancing to the end.  This is the view from the terrace at Mudbrick looking over to Auckland City.
