a lifetime burning

Baker's Day

I mentioned that the weekend was full of chores, and indeed it has been :-)

I managed to sort out the e-mail on Cathy's iPhone (it wasn't getting any), although it took the best part of 90 minutes to work out what was going wrong.

In the meantime here is the result of the baking - wholemeal seeded rolls and a spelt sourdough boule.  What you cannot see is the gluten free Christmas pudding busy steaming away in the pressure cooker on the hob.  There's also a bowl of dried fruit left to soak overnight (alcohol is involved) before tomorrow's cake baking session - Cathy's birthday cake is in hand for early in the New Year.

I've also found time to start moving things out of the room that is about to be decorated, and to buy more seed for the bird feeders.  That last task let me get the Duchess out for a quick trip along some twisty roads to a garden centre and back (the long way).  The first service light has now come on, and that is one of tomorrow afternoon's little jobs.

It will be a relief to get back back to work! :-)
