The fossil hunter and his museum

Kimmeridge's brand new museum, the Steve Etches collection, was opened last Friday.

Last month I blipped about the disadvantages of the siting of this museum. My comments still stand.  Parking provision is lamentable, and the Clavells Restaurant opposite the museum has been choked with visitors' cars.  I counted myself very lucky to find the one remaining parking space at the top of the village.

The siting, like Brexit, is a fait accompli and we are lumbered with it.

The good news is that the museum is stunning, one of the best I have ever seen.  Steve is currently giving guided tours in the exhibition room.  The exhibits are fascinating and well presented, suitable for almost all ages.  Purchase of an entry ticket (£8) gives free entry for the next 12 months.

Well worth a visit wherever you are.  (Just don't expect to be able to park there, so bring your walking boots.)
