BAG - Truckers Nightmare

Setting out for the morning walk had determined Tractor Tuesday was to be replaced by Transport Tuesday. Tractors of special note get rare at this time of year. My first thought it would be an aircraft to match the jolly debate which hit the UK today to give everyone a break from the Brexit antics.

However no Ryanair flights landing during the walk. Memmingen Airport Munich West International Airport, has some free capacity should Mrs May want an "exit". It even has a self-service air fuel station which will take UK issued bank cards. Don't worry folks, I'm not going down this discussion "runway" but you know the offer is there should it get tight before a working solution is in operation.

I hated Heathrow, I guess last used it around 1990. However I spent much of my 1980's working life battling from south of Guildford to Uxbridge and thus lived through the entire building of that section of the M25 - The Road to Hell.

Went to the agricultural merchants which was always my TT bank but as it is probably to close at the end of the month, nothing new. Then to the supermarket across the road and bought a bread roll for luch handing over a 1 Euro coin and remarked out loud - "Oh that was an Irish one" - as I saw the Harp. Stepped out just as a Ryanair flew over and no camera to hand!

However the vans in the Blip were all parked up, the occupants having their lunch in the small cafe in the supermarket. They seem to be regulars there, I can almost always see them there at this time.

They are not the regular police but the authority responsible for controlling commercial traffic, notably carrying out the spot checks that are set up on the autobahn to check technical state of trucks, driving times, weights, storage etc etc.

Alarmingly they have a very high "hit" record, of around 20-25%. Despite this the alarming reports of technical failures, overloading, too long hours  and the fatal accidents continue. So we need to have these teams out and about to help protect all of us road users.
