Across the Forth.

I was late arriving at the start of the cycle run to Linlithgow today, so was relieved of my normal role of back marker which makes it easier, though not actually easy, to grab Blips en route. This view across Grangemouth and the Forth was taken from Beecraigs just before lunch and shows, not just the general murkiness of the weather, but the damage that the Grangemouth oil refinery must be doing to our atmosphere. This dirty yellow smog hanging over the estuary extends at least thirty miles downstream under the right (wrong?) conditions, as witnessed by photographs taken across the river from East Lothian.
The tall chimney at the right-hand edge of the shot is Longannet Power Station which, presumably, in its day, added to the overall effect but, having ceased operating back in March can no longer take a share of the blame.
