Trees in Bright Autumn Sun

13.8C with sunny sunshine all day long. One or two fluffy white clouds. Light SE breeze.

Grocery shopping over by mid morning. Maeve the Deerhound stayed at home.

We went the ten miles or so South to Southend then followed the road round past Dunaverty beach to Kiel where we stopped at the cemetery to take a photo or two. There were two seals swimming just offshore.

We carried on round to Carskey Bay where we had a walk with Maeve from one end of the beach to the other and back. There was a beachcasting fisherman on the beach. We have seen him once or twice before. The view over to the Antrim coast of Northern Ireland was hazier today.

The tide was just beginning to go out and there were good waves appearing near the shore and breaking on the beach with a very soothing deep sound. We stood and watched the light catch the waves and illuminate them just as they were breaking and listened to the sound of them falling onto the sand in several places as we walked along. We were also collecting some tiny white stones to put on the tops of the pots of two Aloe Vera plants which we had separated from a parent plant yesterday and potted up. We keep the plants by the top window of the turret in our building.

There was also one very interesting shard of pottery that Apothecary7 found near the far end of the beach where most of the seagulls seemed to be sitting, although they soon flew off and landed out on the water when we approached.

On the way to Southend we had checked the farm stand for Little Farm. Some Rainbow Chard, some Parsley, and one box of Duck eggs. No sale. On the way home we stopped in town for local vanilla ice cream to have with some cake in the afternoon.

Later Apothecary7 was painting.

Afternoon music ... BBC Radio 2.
