Ramblings from Zambia....

flame trees....

Today we set off at 6am on the long journey to Muyombe in the North East of Zambia!  We had three drivers in our vehicle so we took in turns, 4 hours each!  We reached Mpika in good time and hoped to reach Muyombe by around 9pm.  However, we had not anticipated the state of the road - shocking is an understatement! It is a dirt road but had not been graded for some years. To crown it all there were many diversions on the road, only no signposts!  So we reached Muyombe at midnight and went to the Pastors house - he had arranged for us to stay in a lodge (I was pleasantly surprised at the lodge considering where we were)!  The lodge had prepared food for us so we ate it and got to bed around 1.30pm totally exhausted!!
