Revelling in Autumn

Today's long walk for the Haltwhistle Walkers was a circular from Corbridge and up to Hadrian's Wall, taking in a few historical sights on the way. We had fine weather, but the temperature has dropped dramatically. There was a significant frost this morning.

We enjoyed the woods, where is was warmer and pretty, but also the wide open views to both north and south as we gained height.

Here was a walking back along a lane towards Corbridge.

The extra shows a stand of bracken by the side of the same lane. Bracken is not my favourite plant, but the different shades of yellow and green caught my eye. There was no detail in the sky and the sun was absent when I took this one.

One of our walking friends has announced that he will be marrying in the New Year, so we are delighted for him.
