A good walk into town on the regular Saturday morning jaunt. A pleasant coffee and teacake at the Royal Star Arcade, allbeit so cold where we were sitting you could see your breath. Susan says we need to find a more cozy establishment for the winter months.

The afternoon was spent watching a new member of the Society refereeing his first senior adult game. And a very promising start he made too. What started off as a relatively pleasant afternoon grew much colder as the game progressed. The wind picked up and the sun diappeared. Despite wearing tee shirt, shirt, pullover, gillet and jacket accompanied by hat, scarf and gloves I was uncomfortably cold by the end of the game. I didn't really warm up in the car on the way home so had to resort to a hot bath before I eventually felt more comfortable.

A great day sportwise with Andy Murray becoming World No1 in tennis and Ireland rugby beating the All Blacks for the first time in their history (111 years of trying) in Chicargo of all places.
