FlowerFriday11 Poppy

Today being Armistice Day, a poppy seemed the most appropriate flower to blip.  Of course this not a real flower but one of the ceramic poppies that made up the  stunning  art installation, Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red, which we were available to purchase afterwards.

This has been quite an extraordinary week and finished on a note of great sadness for me and Mr MC when we learned this morning of the passing of Leonard Cohen, another of the greats whose songs formed part of the soundtrack to my student days and beyond.    In my opinion he would have been a most worthy recipient of the Nobel Prize for Literature, not that don't admire the artist who was chosen!
In extras:  a song book (containing some wonderful photos)  belonging to Mr MC, published in 1969 and secondly a photo of my Friday alternative flower, Violet, who has spent the week with me.  Although she's very happy to stay with us, she was delighted to go back to Mummy tonight, who has had a very busy week in her new job.
