Old Man

This is a mask used by the Athapaskan people from the sub-Arctic in their ceremonies which demonstrated that people were part of the natural world and not superior to it. The Mask Dance was also intended to strengthen ties between different communities. I think we could do with some of this now, on both fronts.

Becky is working again today so Tony and I crossed town in the rain to the Yale Peabody Museum and enjoyed a couple of hours of dinosaurs and Native American artefacts in and amongst small children on school trips. Then it was to Katalina's Bakery for cuppas and cake before calling in at IKEA for tea towels and back before the heaviest of the rain fell.

Tonight we will eat out and I intend to enjoy another excellent cider at the Beer Collective. Tomorrow it's home......
