Nature's little chandelier

Dear Diary,

While most of the snow is gone the ice in places is hanging on creating these little "chandeliers" on the bushes.  The red berries that haven't been eaten by the birds yet add to the effect.  Honestly, it is the ice that bothers me most in the winter, not the snow.  It can cause such damage and is so dangerous on walks and roads.  I have my crampons out and at the ready!

We seem to be wrapped in cold right now but with rising temperatures that will bring a "wintery mix" for Thanksgiving day.  Not great for those who have to travel but I'm just journeying up the road so it won't be too bad.  The fire in the wood stove at night keeps Emerson and I toasty warm so no complaints here.
