postcard: Glasgow
poem: Rainer Malkowski (1975) - Schöne seltene Weide

Manchmal, nach einem Herbststurm,
wenn die Luft still und gefegt ist,
gehe ich im Garten umher und zähle
die abgeschlagenen Äste.
Nur die Weide zeigt keine Veränderung.
Ich bewundere sie lange:
nicht immer sieht es so schön aus,
wenn die Biegsamkeit überlebt.

This postcard is the second free one I got sent when I ordered a print from Glasgow-based artist David Fleck. It went to a friend's brother – one of those people who is dear to you, but who you only ever get to see through your friend.

Today's poem is about how after an autumn storm, a lot of branches lie strewn about the garden, only the willow hasn't changed. The author observes: It's not all the time that the ability to bend looks so beautiful. To trim one's sails to the wind and opportunism come to mind.

I have managed to send my postcards regularly, but I have not managed to keep up blipping every day, so this is backblipped. One regular task at a time, I guess.

NaPoWriMo - my version of it; sending a postcard-poem each day of November. Here is the how.
