Life through the lens...

By ValC

It's still November!

Abstract Thursday, and so had a little mess about with a photo of the Christmas tree in the Crescent Hotel, Ilkley.
The entrance and staircase were beautifully decorated. ( see extra)
We missed the town lights, as they aren't going to be switched on until the weekend, but will be back to see them later.
Today we had arranged to meet our friends J and F for lunch. ( extra photo taken by a passer by.)
This is the first time we have been to Bistrot Pierre, but it is one of their favourite restaurants.
A good job we booked because the place was packed, and at £10.95 for a very good two course lunch, I can see why.
I chose Confit de poulet...........Chicken leg confit with cassoulet of Toulouse sausage, smaked bacon, flageolet beans and plum tomatoes.
Served with a little bucket of Pommes frites.
The dessert I chose was Pain perdu brioche..........French style bread and butter pudding with warm spiced blackberry compote served with vanilla ice cream. All delicious.
Mr C and I shared a 500 cl carafe of French red wine. F had a large glass of white, and poor J had water as he hasn't to have alcohol due to the tablets he is taking at the moment.
Two hours of good food, wine, and especially good company, passed very quickly.
We were very glad we had gone by bus and train. It made the journey so relaxing, even the bus back from Leeds at 5pm in the rush hour,
That's it for me today. No more food, as I am still full. Just a nice cup of tea.

Happy Thanksgiving Day to all our American friends.
