Sailing Taster

I made a trip to Ocean Village today to applaud the Royal Southampton Yacht Club Trust staging its first sailing event which saw a group of young carers from Romsey  getting their first taster in sailing.
It involved a morning sail from the Southampton Water Activities Centre finishing up at the Club’s pontoon in Ocean Village.
The RSYC Trust is the charitable arm of the Club and aims to make boating more accessible to everyone, regardless of circumstances.

The first session for the group from Romsey saw them sailing into the River Itchen and into the Club’s pool in Ocean Village.  Our Blip shows their dinghy approaching the clubhouse where they enjoyed refreshments and received certificates.
And the verdict of the youngsters — they had thoroughly enjoyed their  first experience of sailing.
