A Pigeon Explosion

On the motorway this morning I had recorded this scene with my dashcam - a couple of seconds before this I had seen the pigeon fly low and fast (just clearing the barrier on the offside of the carriageway) in front of the vehicles ahead of me and then the air was filled with feathers as the poor thing had been hit by one of the wagons (probably lane 2). Travelling at 70mph - it must have made a dreadful impact on the vehicle.

As I passed the scene I noticed a large bird off to the right - couldn't see what it  was - and wondered of the pigeon had been fleeing a predator. You can just see it top right of the main image
