The Way of Colour

The colours and textures of decay

22C. Hot. Started very nicely, got cloudier, rumour of a shower, then brighter.

Routine still out of the window. Apothecary7 had her day off today. Sadly that means no more days off until a week on Saturday. Not good.

Out and about this morning. Went to look at a craft shop in a retail park (if that isn't an oxymoron it should be) in Dundee. The shop had what we wanted and a lots of art materials too. Bonus.

We were planning to come home via Broughty Ferry, but our Saturday cafe experience tempted us, and instead of our usual Caffe Nero it became a trip to cafe M&S. Victoria sponge today (no carrot cake!). Service not so smart, a little less than completely impressed. Downstairs in the Simply Food we picked up lunch and dinner.

Since we were in the vicinity we revisited the North Carr Lightship at City Quay. More photos, including this blip which is a downward view of the colours and textures on the gunwale on the port side. In a way it is a reflection of the condition of the whole vessel.

Later ... on our return home we walked Maeve the Deerhound down to the seafront at Carnoustie and back through the town. Each of us took a turn to go in and see the Carnoustie Photo Group exhibition in the Library while the other waited in the shade with Maeve. Some excellent shots. Maeve got hot, but not too hot. Lunch was late. No one was in the least concerned :-)
