Butterflyfish

We hung at the condo in the morning because it was rainy and windy, but took a ride farther south down the Maui coastline to Black Sand Beach. The beach is at the base of a lava flow from many years ago and the lava has been shredded by the sea for all those years. The grains of sand are large and coarse. It was a nice drive down there even in the rain showers. We talked to some locals and they told us of a snorkeling beach with clear waters, but when we got there the water was extremely rough. We finally found a bay that wasn't quite so rough and got our time in the water. The sun did not come out of the clouds and the water wasn't too clear, but I added a few photos. The fish looked much clearer than the photos captured. The photo I Blipped areYellow Striped ButterflyFish I couldn't id. The extras are Moorish Idols, a Pinktail Trigger fish heading off the coral reef and Teardrop Butterflyfish..
Thanks for all the stars, hearts and nice comments recently. I am delighted. See you tomorrow.
