Robin at large

If you were there.

If you were at Linlithgow palace yesterday, and you saw a car driving along the footpath that leads around the palace, that was me. Too long to explain why I was diving along a footpath, some pedestrians looked surprised and were quite slow in getting out of the way. It was raining heavily at the time, so at least as I was in the car I was able to keep dry, while having to drive quite slowly while pedestrians got out of the way. The footpath was quite narrow for a car, so they had to get off the path into the grass.

Having finally got off the footpath ourselves we decided it was too wet to enjoy a visit to the palace as somebody seems to have put a roof on the building. We visited the adjacent parish church which was quite impressive. I liked the stained glass window which was installed in 1992.

We then went to the canal basin where there is a small museum and canal cruises are operated. As they were just about to close we settled for a coffee instead of a canal cruise. A day of sunshine and showers, this photograph having been taken in one of the sunnier intervals.
