Lunch

I took my life in my hands and went over to Edinburgh to meet a friend for lunch.

The trains were packed and a nightmare. So was Edinburgh.

We'd chosen a relatively out of the way place to eat, and we chose well. Good food and service.

Then we went to see a rugby game. I realised a long time ago that rugby is like watching paint dry compared to ice hockey, but it was about companionship. Plus we're both a bit too mature to sit in a pub all afternoon.

The rugby was suitably tedious, but a well known former Scotland player was sitting next to us and the discussion about top level referees was interesting.

We had a couple of glasses of wine with lunch to try to make us feel more festive. It made me want to sleep during the rugby.
