Paihia

We collected our hire car and drove north from Auckland stopping a couple of times for breaks and refreshments.  Arrived in Paihia mid afternoon and we are staying in a hotel right opposite the beach.  This is the view from our balcony.  Neat.

Am amazed by the lovely flowers growing in abundance - wisteria, agapanthus absolutely everywhere and this lovely red tree (see extras).  I am not sure what it is but it resembles a 'bottle brush' I have in the UK at about 10% of the size of this.

Popped out for supplies mid afternoon and now chilling with a cool glass of local white wine.
