Otehei Bay, Northland, New Zealand

We went for a boat trip on board the catamaran "Dolphin Seeker" this morning.  We explored the beautiful Bay of Islands in search of dolphins, whales and other marine life.  Saw some dolphins but they were a bit too quick for me to capture anything worth showing.  Absolutely stunning scenery.  This was taken from the beach at Otehei Bay where we stopped for 40 minutes or so.

We also saw the "Hole in the Rock" (see extras) and the lady captain reversed the boat into it for us to see the rock formation.

Ashore, yet more lovely flowers.  The purple ones in Russell on the mainland look like lilac from a distance but they aren't on closer inspection - any clues?  Also, yet more agapanthus everywhere.  Delightful.
