ATV

Foggy, icy start and as it turned out, stayed that way all day. Set off early to GP's practice to get a referral note for my afternoon's quarterly check up with my internist specialist in Memmingen.

However then had to go to Memmingen to deliver the tax papers to the offices of the tax accountants. They are at this time of year only open on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We don't any longer use an accountant but are members of a sort of self help society which fulfils the same role. They only deal with private persons who don't have any complicated matters eg no self employed people.

Then back home, pottering around and after lunch back to Memmingen for the specialist. More a courtesy call really as I have no problems to report. I think the poor doc feels guilty that he hasn't had to do anything for me since he initially started looking after me and had done a very thorough and detailed series of examinations. I tried to reassure him that it was probably simply knowing I was now in good hands had sorted me out. He asked about all my side ailments such as the kidney stones but there is little or nothing he can do in terms of pills and potions to help there. He did though suggest he would do a big blood test including Vitamin B and iron, a test I ought to have more often but GPs are reluctant to use up their budgets - specialists have a more generous budget. A year or two back, I used to get myself injected with Vit B 6+12 and iron on a regular basis but have been too lazy and fear the ampules I have at home are past their dates.

However such a blood test needs to be done when one is "starved" and with clashing dates, I can't get back until next Friday.

The rather fine ATV was spotted at the Quad centre near the GPs practice in Erkheim in the morning. With the 3000€ extra cost snow plough attachment, would make an ideal Christmas present. Just mention this in case any one still wondering what to get me.
