Winter Solstice

The view as I arrived at work first thing this morning, and before I ascended the steps. The Christmas Tree is always located here, but the flag above it (just out of sight) is not usually at half mast. It is today, in remembrance of those who lost their lives in Berlin.

It is busy at work. Christmas is in evidence everywhere, but there is still lots to do before Christmas Eve. My aim is to have a relatively clear desk by the end of Friday, so I can come back in January knowing what needs to be done and in what order. And enjoy the break forgetting about work matters for a while. 

It is the shortest day of the year, and the longest night. The world goes on spinning around.
