Gingerbread Architecture

Tomorrow grands Maya and Owen are coming for the annual gingerbread house decorating spree, which meant that I had to make the gingerbread houses today. I used a new recipe and a new method which meant less chance of burning myself on  boiling sugar but a 100% chance of coating every surface in the kitchen with Royal Icing, otherwise known as 'glue'. I'm writing this as I wait for the glue to set before putting on the roofs.
Technical equipment needed:
2 large cookie sheets with sides
1 serrated knife
parchment paper
piping bag with tips
ziploc bags
ruler, protractor, (just kidding...)
cardboard covered with aluminum foil

Ozzie, aware that a new method is likely to involve   incompetence and droppage kept a close eye on the situation. OilMan, impressed with the amount of powdered sugar sprinkled the length and breadth of the kitchen decided it needed to be recorded....

No wine was used in the making of the houses, but it is about to become very involved in restoring the sanity of the architect/builder.
