Christmas Day

Happy Christmas to you! We did have a white Christmas after all, we woke up to a light covering of snow where everything looked very pretty - then it rained a bit and the snow melted! (See extra image) We opened presents, then Gavin and I got things ready for lunch - stuffed turkey crown, stuffed lamb, pigs in blankets, various stuffings (all brought here from the UK) and then the usual assortment of vegetables. Pudding...which we are yet to eat...will be frozen berries and white chocolate sauce.

We had long face time calls with my family in Durban and Gavin's family in Johannesburg - they loved seeing what we were having for lunch and speaking to all of us. Then we settled down to watch the Queen's speech and now the boys are all playing monopoly. We all played last night and as it is my least favourite board game I have been let off this next round of the game. We are about to go the the carol service in the village. The German priest from the local church kindly does a short service in English for all the English - as his English is not that good it mainly consists of us all singing carols. As we have been coming here for so many years we know quite a few people who holiday here, and so we will see quite a few of our friends at the service.

Back to skiing tomorrow  - Luke is feeling much better so he will ski for the first time this holiday.
