Solace Day 6

An even nicer frosty morning today! The blip is of one of our favourite mooring places at Branston Water Park.

We came across a section of frozen canal just after we set off, probably not good for the painted hull of the boat but ours is ready for re-blackening and someone had already carved their way through it.

Before we came away I'd planned meals and shopping fairly well, so much so that I hardly needed to stop at Alrewas for just a few things. Having a long bank-holiday weekend you just can't be certain when shops in the small canal-side villages will be open.

So, another short cruising day and then settle down for the evening with DVDs (Spectre and First Knight) and drinks. I had made a concoction of warmed-up, spiced white wine which had been used for stewing pears and a slosh of dark rum. Very warming!
