Harlaw Reservoir, Pentlands Country Park

Happy New Year everyone and all the best for good health, success and contentment.

We walked again around the Reservoirs in the Pentlands Hills accompanied by crowds of people enjoying what started out as a sunny day which clouded up and developed a keen northerly breeze as the morning progressed. The coffee wagon at Harlaw Visitors Centre was doing a roaring trade in all sorts of beverages and food.

The afternoon was spent with a whole crowd of family from 1 to 91 enjoying the traditional Scottish New Year's Day lunch of steak pie, turnips (swede) and mash, preceded by soup and followed by a vast selection of puddings.

After that lot, the evening was spent watching TV. Our last day in Edinburgh tomorrow before travelling south on Tuesday.
