Aquamarine/Nanna K's Day

Kids camp: day 7

I'm getting quite fond of this hour between 10 and 11 PM - everyone but me is asleep and it is blissfully QUIET!

H wanted to go to Galiano today to the hardware store for stuff for his projects he keeps working on in spare moments, and also to fill our extra propane tank (which ran out in the middle of making pancakes a couple days ago- and there are very limited hours to catch the propane lady.) So the kids decided on another trip to Morning beach -it was sunny and warm and we met another set of grandparents there with 3 granddaughters, all from Seattle. Another trip for a few groceries and yet more milk! We needed a cow this week!

Later in the day they made cake. 2 cakes. They could not agree on what kind. so now we have a chocolate cake from scratch and a vanilla/confetti cake from a box. All with chocolate frosting. Niklas and Tatum share pretty well -both beating their "half" of the bowl. Oskar had finally worn down and was taking a long nap.

There has been discussion lately about this island place. The 3 kids have decided that they will "never sell it" or "let" their parents sell it. I think they have overheard some talk about what will happen to it when we are too old to take care of it (and how much work, time, energy and $$ it takes!) so they are dividing up what they think they need to take care of. Tatum will be in charge of all the bird feeders. Niklas will be in charge of the boats and the dock. Oskar will manage who comes when.
Well, that's a start, I guess!
