Driving The Maul

The U15 HRFC 1st team won an important league game against Harpenden 27-7. It was a great game to watch as they were 7-5 down at half time and the play was fairly even. Anthony played hard as Hooker; no 2. It was a well-needed morale boost as they had lost their pre-season league games.

My parents and Peter's mum joined us for dinner: Peter's roast beef, a good bottle of red wine and my chocolate soufflées....yum. Ruth was on surprisingly good form: she knows as well as we do that she hasn't got long left living independently and was concerned about the next step on the Alzheimer's decline. Nevertheless, whilst there was some conversational loop, she told us some new things too, which is a first in a very long time. It's evenings like this that will be cherished memories for us.
