Cake-cutting

After a very hot and sticky night in the hotel, we had breakfast and then went our separate ways. My colleagues went exploring while I caught up on some emails, put the finishing touches to my presentation and sorted out the paperwork.

We met up later and headed off to the venue for the meeting. Our host was lovely and helped us set up the room and lay out the lunch for the participants. It was good to see people arriving after all the emails about travel, food choices and and arrangements.

The meeting went well and I don't think I'd forgotten anything. The cake made it in one piece and we cut it half through the meeting. I hope our out-going editor was pleased with it.

After the meeting we went to a great open air traditional Danish restaurant. Great food, lovely wine and much relief on my part that the meeting was over.

We were left to pay the bill - when all four credit cards (one work, 3 personal!) were declined and the restaurant staff were offering to escort me to a cash point, I began to get worried. Luckily, the staff made a phone call, reset their router and the payment finally went through.
